Lively Stones

Matthew 16:18b: I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

1 Corinthians 1:9: God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are called to fellowship. We are not called to be Lone Ranger Christians. We are called to be part of a local church and part of His universal church.

1 Corinthians 12:18: But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Ephesians 2:19: Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

1 Peter 2:4-5: To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

A house never has just one brick. It never has just one lively stone. About the only things one brick or one stone might be good for are a paper weight, a door stopper or something to throw away. One brick alone would not be good for much of anything. So, are you where the Lord wants you? Are you a lively stone fitted into a Biblical church?
